Guru Pada Smaranam

Guru Pada Smaranam

Importance of Guru's blessings - "Anugraham".

The pre-eminent position of Guru's instructions -  "Guru Arul Vak" - "Guru Upadesam"

Even Parvathi Devi takes Upadesam from Gouthama Rishi.

Ref: Arunachala Mahatmyam.

So does Sri Rama and Sri Krishna.

Todakacharya's story with Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada -

The instance of "Chinta Matrena Jnaana Sphoorthi".

Sri Dakshinamoorthy Swamikal has sung - (his first composition)

"Mat Guruvaro Mangalam Karothu,

Sree Nathadi GuruGuho Jayati Jayati"

Jnanappana - "GuruNathan Thuna Cheytha Santhatham...."

Hari Nama Kirthanam - "Omkaramaya Porul - Sakshi - Bodham...

Paramacharya Roopa Hari Narayanaya Namah".

Saint Tyagaraja has sung

"Guru Leka Etuvanti Guniki

Deliyaga Bodu Sat- Guru leka..."

Without SatGuru who lights the lamp of knowledge in us - How do we know about The SELF.

Sri Guru Gita - further states

Na Guroradhikam Na Guroradhikam

Na Guroradhikam Na Guroradhikam

Sivasasanatho Sivasasanatho

Sivasasanatho Sivasasanthah.

Sri Guru Charanou Samarpayami.

Rama Rasam

Pibare Rama Rasam -

by Sri Sadasiva Brahmendrar.

Talk about the Rama Rasam.

The experience - "Anubhooti" of pure bliss - The SELF.

It is the "Sakala Sastra Nigama Agama Saaram" - Nothing but the essence of everything.

श्री राम राम रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे
सहस्रनाम तत् तुल्यं रामनाम वरानने
śrī rāma rāma rāmeti rame rāme manorame .
sahasranāma tat tulya
rāmanāma varānane ..

- part of chanting Vishnu Sahasra Namam -

Rama Nama is in itself the crux of the absolute Truth - The SELF.

All the other Namams are but the experiencing of the same SELF.

Sri Krishna Venu Gana-Amrutham

Oh, Dear Lord Krishna

Can’t even imagine a moment - not seeing your "Divya Roopam" - The Divine SELF.

At least once - need to hear the beautiful melodious Music emanating from your Flute - which is nothing but MYSELF.

"Oru neramenkilum kaanathe vayyente

Guruvayurappa nin dhivya roopam

Oru mathrayenkilum kelkkaathe vayya nin

Murali pozhikkunna gaanaalaapam."

A beautiful poem Chowalloor Krishnankutty, Music my Sri T S Radhakrishnan, and of course sung by Sri KJ Yesudas in the album "Thulasi Theertham".

In the famous Ancient Poetry - "KrishnaGadha" by Sri Cherusseri -

He describes the loving lament of Mother Yasodha, who tells Krishna -

While you play your magical flute, every speck of life stands still and absorbed in SELF.

So much so that even the calves forget to play around or even drink milk from their mother cows, while the cows, look upwards, forget to chew the food inside their mouths, even forget to lick their calves.

They even forget to give milk.

"So, Dearest Krishna, please play your divine Flute only after the milking of the cows are done".

It is so enchanting that a Jeeva will immediately shed the cover of "Maya" and BE in the "Nischala Tatwam".

- The beauty of Sri Krishna Venu Gana-Amrutham.
